Tamiya Isuzu VehiCROSS Model Kits 1:24 Scale Built-up |
The Japanese plastic model maker Tamiya provided the first and best model kit version of the VehiCROSS. The attention to detail is remarkable - Tamiya is truly one of the best kit providers currently in the market. The VX kits are no exception - each very accurately portrays the Japanese model VehiCROSS, in either 1:32 or 1:24 scale. The Team Geolandar Baja 1000 was a late addition, repurposing the original 1:32 body mold with larger tires and underpinnings. The built-up image above I "borrowed" from an eBay auction (if the builder would like credit for the image, please let me know and I'll put the appropriate information with the image).
Tamiya Isuzu VehiCROSS 1:24 Sports Car Series No. 191
This is a really wonderful kit with great detailing. My only wish is that it was of a US model instead of the Japanese. I've been looking for a Rodeo or Passport kit that might have a RHD interior - it wouldn't take much to change out the side-maker lights to get this model looking like the US version. I've been hesitant because of the interior. Instructions are well thought out and assembly is straight forward. I haven't put one of these together yet - time is precious. However I intend to build one to represent my Proton. Now if I can only find an acceptable LHD dash!
Tamiya Isuzu VehiCROSS 1:32 Mini 4WD Series No. 20
Tamiya tends to make their smaller scale vehicles more toy-like and the 1/32nd Scale VX is no exception. This little beauty comes with a small motor and gearing assembly, powered by two AA batteries. Fun toy - the cats love it!
Tamiya Isuzu VehiCROSS Team GEOLANDAR Baja 1000 1:32 Wild Mini 4WD Series No. 15
The GEOLANDAR Baja VX was released as part of a new series of big-truck-tire models that could climb obstacles and do wheelies. Besides the unique 4WD gearing of this kit, I like the huge stickers that may be applied to the red body shell - you can get by with assembling this one with no or very little paint.
